Craps Top Tips

  • Payouts in craps range from 1:1 up to a lucrative 30:1.
  • House edge varies from 0% when you take odds up to 16.67% on any seven.
  • To play just click on the bet that you wish to make and watch as the dice are rolled.

The high number of potential bets in craps makes the game appear to be quite complex. These bets range from the most common bets, the pass and come bets, which have the best chances of winning and have payouts of one to one up to proposition bets such as boxcars (two sixes) which has a payout of 30 to one. In the interest of making craps easy to learn, the six-step guide below outlines how to bet on pass in an online game of craps.

  1. Select the amount you want to bet by clicking on the chips.
  2. Click on the section of the table you want to bet on. In this case, that’s the pass line.
  3. Click the roll button and watch as the dice are rolled and reveal a combined total.
  4. There are three possible outcomes here:
    • The combined total of seven or eleven is rolled, and the pass bet wins with a payout of one to one.
    • The combined total of the dice is two, three, or twelve, and the pass bet loses.
    • The combined total of the dice is any other number; this number then becomes the point and the game continues.
  5. With the third outcome, you can make more bets (although you’re not allowed to change your pass bet). Once you’ve re-bet, or if you choose not to, it’s time to hit the roll button again.
  6. The fifth step then repeats as often as necessary, with other bets being placed each time, until either of these two things happens:
    • A seven is rolled and the player “craps out“. Any bets on the pass are then lost and a new game begins.
    • The point is rolled again and all bets on the pass are won at a payout of one to one, and a new game begins.

This is just a simple guide to playing a pass bet in craps. For a deeper explanation of all the different bets that can be made in craps, check out the rules sections of this guide.
