Definitions for the terms used in roulette games.

Corner bets, high bets, a six line — it's not always easy to know what's going on during a game of roulette. So, we've compiled a few useful terms:

American roulette:
The American variation of roulette, where the wheel features an extra pocket for double zeros.
Corner bet:
A bet placed on the corner of four numbers, encompassing each pocket.
Dozen bet:
A bet on the first second or third groups of twelve numbers on the board.
European roulette:
European variation of the game, containing only one green square.
Fibonacci system:
Very similar to the Labouchere betting system, only using the Fibonacci number sequence to work from.
French roulette:
French variation of the game very similar to European roulette with the added bonus en prison, which allows you to rebet any color bets that land on green.
High bet:
Consists of the top half of the 36 numbers (not including zero).
Inside bet:
Any bets placed within the board.
Labouchere system:
Elaborate betting system using random numbers that equate to the desired amount to win.
Low bet:
Consists of the bottom half of the 36 numbers (not including zero).
Martingale system:
Betting system relying on the fallacy that future random events are directly influenced by past events.
Odd/Even bet:
Betting on the next number coming out being odd/even.
Outside bets:
Bets placed outside the board on predefined groups of numbers such as red or odd numbers.
Six line:
Two street bets (six pockets).
Straight bet:
Betting on a single number.
Street bet:
Betting on three numbers in a line.
Wager:
Another word for a bet.
Wheel:
The roulette wheel (where the pockets are and where the ball is spun around).
