Variations of Craps
We take a look at the different craps games available in online casinos.
Unlike most other casino games, craps is very limited in the ways it can be tweaked and changed. However, the different bets that are available may differ. Bets such as the lay odds/don't pass odds don't always appear and, as they possess a low house edge, are well worth looking out for.
Apart from this, there are just a few variations of craps that have managed to generate a decent level of popularity. One of these is Bank Craps or Las Vegas Craps, which is the version played online. This is where all bets must be made against the house and the house edge is around 1.4%.
There is also Crapless Craps, Die Rich Craps, High Point Craps, and New York Craps, which are all popular in certain areas. There's also a variation called Simplified Craps that consists of winning when a two, three, four, ten, eleven, or twelve is rolled and losing when a five, six, seven, eight, or nine is rolled. This version of the game has an overall house edge of 2.8%.
Some casinos have even incorporated cards into craps to get around certain laws against dice games that do not allow playing craps. Cards can be used to replace dice or to map the dice. This variation rarely appears online since the original game is slightly simplified anyway.
